Whilst Yosemite was spectacular and beautiful, Zion was all that and unlike anything I'd ever seen before. There were so many amazing hikes I would have loved to do, but we only really had time for a few.
First up is The Narrows, where the Virgin River runs through a narrow canyon, and to hike through it you frequently need to to hike in the river. Ruins your shoes, but is so worth it.
We followed that up with a quick trip to see the Emerald Pools, before heading back to the campsite in preparation for the best hike ever the following morning...
Our guide billed Angel's Landing as the best hike ever. I assumed he was doing it just to wind up Alex who had drunk rather too much the night before and wasn't really feeling well enough to do it.
However, I'm inclined to agree. It may not be the tallest, the view may not be the very best, but the actual hike is jaw dropping.
As with all the National Park photos I took, pictures really don't do it justice.
As you work your way to the top, you are frequently one misplaced footstep away from a 1200ft vertical drop on one side, and a 900ft drop on the other.
